The kind of indie music that could only be grown in Southern California — pop, punk and country-flavored songs, stripped down to their essence, with a hint of Latin flavor.
Down West developed their stripped down acoustic sound playing Atwater Village, Los Angeles street festivals, and later local bars. Theo Waddell's cajon-plus drums setup is the perfect match for Steve Stanard's hard-played acoustic guitar-driven songs, punctuated with harmonica melodies. From the urban feedback folk of "Metal Bird" to the apocalyptic walking vibe of "2015," Down West brings a bar-band sensibility to acoustic music.
